Over the past two editions, the Black Peak Expedition has become one of Summit Souls’ most exhilarating and demanding challenges. Designed to push the limits of both mind and body, this journey takes hikers through Lebanon’s breathtaking yet unforgiving landscapes, where every step is a lesson in perseverance.
One of the most intense challenges our teams have faced is the weather. Hikers experienced the extremes of nature, from sunny days to cold temperatures at night. Long stretches in the heat tested their endurance, while sudden cold winds at higher altitudes forced them to adapt quickly, layering up to protect themselves from the biting chills. The contrast between these conditions was both physically and mentally demanding, making the summit victory even more rewarding.
To support our hikers, the logistics team worked tirelessly to ensure that each stop along the route was well-prepared. At the end of each day, participants arrived at carefully set-up camps, where warm tea, comfortable resting areas, and a well-deserved break awaited them. These moments of rest were not just about recharging but also about bonding—sharing stories, laughter, and the excitement of the journey ahead.
Another highlight of the expedition was the culinary experience, thoughtfully prepared by Lebanese guesthouses along the trail. After long hours of hiking, nothing was more rewarding than being welcomed with hearty, home-cooked meals prepared by local hosts. From freshly baked bread and homemade jams to traditional stews and mezze, each meal was a feast that sometimes left hikers too full to move! These moments offered not only nourishment but also a deeper cultural connection, as participants engaged with locals and discovered the warmth of Lebanese hospitality.
